Getting off the peninsula is the part nobody enjoys. There are only a few ways north, they all funnel through the same bridges and boulevards, and a Sunday in summer can double the time. So we split Far Rockaway work between two options and let you pick: bring the car up to Atlantic Avenue and use it as one leg of a trip you were making anyway, or have the van come down and do the install where the car is parked.

Salt and sand define glass wear on the peninsula. Ocean air carries fine salt inland year-round, and sand blows across Seagirt Boulevard and the beach-block streets and ends up under your wipers, where it grinds a haze into the windshield over a season or two. That haze is not damage exactly, but it scatters headlights at night and makes small chips harder to see until they spread. Add the pothole cycle on roads that take standing water after storms, and the bridge and boulevard traffic heading toward the airport, and you get the two failure modes we see most on peninsula cars: worn, scratched glass that has to be replaced, and chips that ran the length of the windshield overnight.
The most direct route is the Nassau Expressway north to Rockaway Boulevard, then west through Ozone Park to Woodhaven Boulevard and up to Atlantic Avenue. The other option is Cross Bay Boulevard north over the bridges through Broad Channel, which lands you on the same Woodhaven Boulevard corridor. We come out. The peninsula is far enough that we schedule it deliberately rather than by chance, so calling ahead gets you a better slot. A driveway or a sheltered spot is ideal since fresh adhesive needs to stay dry while it cures. If the weather turns, we would rather move the appointment than rush a bond that has to hold in a crash.
